Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are organic-based chemical semitted as gases or vapors from solids or liquids that vaporize atroom temperatures. Health effects from inhaling VOC’s dependon the type of chemical, amount in the air (concentration in ppmor ppb), how long a person is exposed, and personal sensitivityto a given VOC.VOC probes are available to measure temperature, humidity, VOC and CO2 or just VOC and temperature. Calculations includepercent outside air, wet bulb and dew point temperatures. VOC exposure in mass concentration can be calculated by inputting the molecular weight and response factor for a particular VOC. The VT-200 carbon monoxide transmitter provides a field selectable current or voltage output that is proportional to the gas concentration in underground parking garages, vehicle maintenance facilities, or mechanical rooms. A field replaceable, electrochemical sensor provides accurate readings with proper calibration. Field calibration can be done by using calibration gas model calibration adapter, and the on board span and zero potentiometers.

Product DescriptionThe Series 500 air quality sensor enables accurate real-time surveying of common outdoor air pollutants, all in an ultra portable handheld monitor. Air quality professionals typically use the Series 500 for short term air quality studies and carrying out checks on pollution "hot spots". The Series 500 can also be deployed for short term fixed monitoring by adding an optional outdoor enclosure.

Data is stored on board the Series 500 with a maximum 8,188 records available. To download the data a USB cable is supplied for connection to PC. Free PC software provided with the Series 500 takes the data and presents it in a chart or table view. Data can be downloaded and viewed in Excel.

Like all our handheld monitors the Series 500 portable air quality sensor takes advantage of the unique sensor head format. Sensors are housed within an interchangeable cartridge ("head") that attaches to the monitor base. The head can be removed and replaced in seconds, allowing users to measure as many gases as they wish. Sensor heads feature active fan sampling which ensures a representative sample is taken and therefore increases measurement accuracy.

Other features on the Series 500 include monitor ID and location ID. Monitor ID identifies the monitor uniquely and ensures that all data from it are tied to that monitor.

Location ID can be used to tag measurements to a specific location which is helpful when sampling at a number of sites over the course of a day or week.
